Why Can't The Rhino Rack SG Roof Rack Be Placed on Rear Cover For 2-Door 2021 Jeep Wrangler?

Question:

2021 Wrangler 2 door. Why must the bars be mounted only on the freedom panels? Since there is the same rain gutter on the entire roof, why cant one bar be mounted towards the back of the jeep to give a longer spread and more stability?

While I cannot give you an exact answer as the engineers at Rhino-Rack are the ones who determine the placement of the SG Roof Rack for Rain Gutters # RRSG60. Typically the placement of the crossbars has to do with the portions of the roof which are strong enough to be able to support the amount of weight their rack system can handle. So while the bars will likely fit the back cover on your 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2-door, the issue is likely to do with the weight capacity and the risk of damage to the rear windows.
