Hello Jennifer, thanks for reaching out. According to Honda, the Fit models from 2008 to 2013 can be flat towed and this includes both the manual and automatic transmission models. Here are the parts I recommend for flat towing your 2012 Honda Fit:

- Demco Tabless Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # DM9519236

- etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # e34ZR

- Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267

- Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Proportional # SM99251

- Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-88400

Please note that fuses will need to be pulled for towing, so please do refer to your owners manual for that. The # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn. You may also need a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch receiver on your RV.

Hey Jennifer, how did everything go getting your 2012 Honda Fit set up for flat towing with the Demco base plate kit? Your update could make it easier for the next person looking to tow a Fit behind their RV.
