Question:

I have a 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro-4x short bed. I live in an area with snow and ice. I want a hard tonneau cover and a ladder rack. I carry kayaks and electric bikes. Can you give me some compatible options to choose from?

Hey Sean,

For your 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X I recommend the TruXedo Elevate Truck Bed Rack System # TX38NV along with the BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK64AV. If you have a Utili-track system in the bed you may have to remove it in order to install the cover and ladder rack. Some times they mount the track too close to the bedrail lip and it interferes with the mounting brackets for the cover/ladder rack.

The Elevate system has adjustable height (18" or 28") towers that will allow you to haul the kayaks above the cab or lower them down to make loading your bikes onto the crossbars. The G2 is a hard folding aluminum cover capable of handling the weight of built up ice and snow.

Kevin, Thank you. That is the set up I was considering. The top of the rail channel is approximately 1.75" below the bottom of the bedrail. Is that enough clearance? If not, do you have a suggestion that would not require me to remove the utilitrack? Thank you and take care, Sean

@SeanK 1.75" would likely give you enough room to install the cover and ladder rack but I can't confirm it. In the attached video below for the cover you can see Brad was able to get it installed with no difficulty. There unfortunately isn't an another option for the ladder rack that would be compatible with a cover. You could swap to a different cover but the clamps would still have the same potential issue.
