Question:
I have a 2022 Montana 3121RL Legacy 5th wheel trailer with a Lippert Road Armor king pin rated at 19,000lbs and I am looking to purchase a 2020-2023 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 or Denali. I want to change from the 5th wheel to a gooseneck hitch. The item number on the Road Armor king pin is 20211052591and if my research is correct this is a Lippert 1116 but I dont know that for sure. I want to know if the Gen y GY73FR is the correct gooseneck to replace the king pin on my tailer. I anticipate that the truck we are going purchase is going to be a short bed, I would also like to know if I will need to purchase an offset ball set up in order to maintain a better turning radius? Thanks for your help.

Hey Robert, thanks for all of the info from your 2022 Montana 3121RL Legacy. With that we can verify that the pin box you have is the Lippert 1116 style which Gen-Y part # GY73FR you referenced is designed to fit in place of so this will fit and work great for you.
I looked up your RV and it has a tapered nose that was designed to help with short bed turning clearance so I do not foresee you needing to use an offset ball if the truck you go with is a short bed. That said an offset ball like the part # GY55XR would still work and it doesn't have any downside over a non-offset ball.
