Recommended Fresh Water Fitting to Prevent Backflow on a 2007 Itasca Horizon

Updated 04/25/2024 | Published 04/24/2024

Question:

I have a 2004 Itasca Horizon motorhome which weve had since 2007. The water pressure is low from city water at this location so I use the RV fresh water pump in conjunction with the city water when I need more water pressure inside the RV. The problem is when the pump is on, it will cycle as it is pushing water back into city water system. By using this one direction value connected to to my hose at the city water connection, will it prevent water from going from RV back into the city water when my RV pump creates more water pressure than the city water has at the water faucet?

Bill, yes the Camco RV Fresh Water System Backflow Preventer # CAM23402 is designed to prevent backflow, so it will prevent the water going back into the city water.

This valve has a 1" MPT x 1" FPT inlet / outlet, a 3/4" inner diameter, and has a corrosion resistant brass body.
