Question:
Hello, I need to replace my existing boat trailer and wheels. Current tires at 8.75 -16.5 Deestone 10 ply. Rim is 6 lug on 5.5. Is this rim a suitable replacement? Can I use existing tires and if not, what size tire do you recommend?

Hi Eric,
First, thanks so much for all that detail. I took a look and you wouldn't be able to use your 8.75 -16.5 tires with that wheel, as they need one that is 16-1/2" x 6-3/4". That's a pretty odd size, so you'll need new tires to go with your new rim. When fully inflated, size 8.75 -16.5 tires are 29.5" in diameter and 8.7" wide, and the closest equivalent are 225/75-15 tires, which are 28.4" in diameter and 8.9" wide. It looks like you need a load range E tire (2,860 lb capacity) and I recommend either of the following:
- Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Tire with 15" Hi-Spec Aluminum Wheel # AM32684
- Westlake ST225/75R15 Radial Tire w/ 15" Liger Aluminum Wheel # LH96FR
Both wheels have the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern you need and both are aluminum with a unique style, so I recommend just going with whichever you prefer.
The only other thing you may need if you don't have them are lug nuts, part # LHLR103.
