Question:
I have an 04 Chevy Silverado that appears to not have come with trailer wiring/plug. looks like previous owner scabbed in a 4 pin flat wire into the harness. Just beyond that appears to be a unused square plug for the tow package option. What I need is to install a 7 pin round to tow an RV lights, 12 volts to charge battery on RV and RV trailer brakes. For the brakes, I have the Curt blue tooth unit which work fines when using my Toyota Tacoma. Question is can a buy a 7pin/4 flat receptacle, remove current 4 flat and connect to the unused plug and am good to go or do I need to do something different. Not quite sure which item to look at purchasing.

I'm not sure what the square plug you have goes to but on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado tow wiring it would have round connector like you see on the Replacement Connector # 30955. If you do not have this we do have the 7-Way Upgrade # ETBC7 which will allow you to connect to the 4-Way # HM48035 which was already installed. It includes wiring for a charge line which will also allow you to use the Curt Echo # C51180.
