Could Going to Double Eye Springs From Slipper Springs Improve Ride Quality of Small Trailer

Question:

Hi, I have a small camping trailer with a top roof tent, solar, water, etc... just 8x4x7 high, like a tall box, with panels in the front for aerodynamics. This little 2500 lbs square axle trailer aftermarket, as I have rebuilt it throughout the years with extra amenities and inventions, including shocks, underneath, on both sides to help rebound, has slipper leaf springs. The one bolted to the frame just on the front side. I added yrs ago your Lock N Roll Articulating Trailer Hitch for 2inch receivers and it made a tremendous difference when going off-road, etc, as it can rotate by itself no matter what... it is perfect for that however, on the road, it is still a little bouncing guy. I understand that it is small, but I wonder if adding these Double Eye Springs, on the front side of the small springs, will help with it, will do any good, or for this size will do nothing. Any help is appreciated. P/D: the springs are over the axle, though they are small in size. Thank you Al.

Going with a double eye spring setup in place of your slipper setup that already has shocks wouldn't give you enough of a difference to make the upgrade worth it. Unfortunately the problem is just due to the short distance between the coupler and the axle. You might check to make sure your leaf springs are the correct rating for the weight of the trailer though as that's only thing I can think of that could be off and causing it to be bouncier.
