Recommended Roof Rack and Cargo Bag for a 2019 Toyota Highlander

Question:

I am overwhelmed and confused by all the options. Can you suggest products? I have a 2019 highlander. I plan on purchasing crossbars. I would like something to carry luggage on the roof. Can a bag sit on the roof? do I need something to set across the bars? We had an accord and just sat a cargo bag on the roof... To finish up, I am hoping to not spend a ton of money since we probably wont use this more than a time or two a year.

I agree it can be a bit overwhelming and confusing to pick out crossbars for your vehicle if you're not familiar with what you need, but I'm here to help.

If you have raised rails then I'd recommend going with the Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB130-138, with the Inno Through Feet for Aero Crossbars # INXS350 and the fit kit # INTR153.

If you have a naked roof, you can use the same crossbar mentioned above, but you'll need different feet # INXS250 and a different fit kit # INK666.

These crossbars measure 51" long for the front, 54" for the rear, and has a 165 lb weight capacity. These bars are also going to be on the more budget friendly side, but you don't have to worry about sacrificing quality.

However, if you're strictly just needing crossbars to carry a luggage bag, I'd recommend just getting the Rightline Gear Sport 3 Rooftop Cargo Bag # RL100S30 which does not require any bars and can just sit on the roof.
