You need to use a ladder rack like the TruXedo Elevate Truck Bed Rack System # TX46NV with the TruXedo Deuce 2 Soft Tonneau Cover # TX769101 on your 2016 Ford F-250 short bed. The vertical arms of this rack allow the hinge to not hit the uprights or the slide base like they will on the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack # TH43003XT-510EX you are looking at.
