Question:
LOOKING FOR WIRE HARNESS FOR HAYES SYCRONIZER TO A 2023 FORD BRONCO. HAVE THE CONTROLLER NEED PLUG AND PLAY HARNESS

Expert Reply:
There unfortunately isn't a plug-and-play wire harness to connect your Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller # HA81725 to your 2023 Ford Bronco so you'll have to use the universal splice-in wire harness # HA81789-HBC. This harness will need to be wired in the follow order:
Black: 12v power
White: Ground
Blue: Trailer brake output
Red: Bronco cold side of Brake Light Switch
If your Bronco is a base model without the signature LED lighting then the cold side of the brake light switch would be a purple wire coming off the top of the brake pedal. You can use a tester # PTW2993 to confirm that this wire only has power when the brake pedal is depressed.
If you have the signature LED lighting then this wire will not be useable and you'll instead need to install a stop light switch kit # RM68MR (automatic transmission) to splice the red wire to for the brake signal so that the controller will send power to the trailer's brake assemblies.
