The Thule Canyon XT Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, part # TH859XT you referenced will fit round, square, aerodynamic, and elliptical crossbars, and is designed to fit a variety of sizes. Your crossbar spread must be between 20 inches and 37 inches center to center, most setups are in this range but you can easily meausure. When any load is placed in the cargo basket you may see some sag and may require more room.

Although the carrier has a weight capacity of 150 lbs, you will want to check your owner's manual or check with a dealership to find out what the roof weight capacity is for your 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan with the panoramic roof. The cargo basket weighs 29 lbs. Many roof mounted baskets will not allow the operation of a panoramic roof while the basket is loaded on the roof. If the crossbars sit on top of the side-rails of your vehicle you should have the clearance needed to attach the basket.

To make it easier to reach the cargo in the basket on your roof I recommend a wheel mount tire step like part # HE4040. This adjusts to any tire and folds flat for easy storage. This tire step also supports up to 400 lbs.
