Does Hopkins Trailer Wiring for 2005 Dodge Durango Have Battery Wire
Published 09/19/2023 >
Question:
The Hopkins #HM42245 indicates it has a converter for power from the battery. Does this require a separate wire to be run to the battery? I see the Tekomsha does include a wire to the battery.

Expert Reply:
The Hopkins 4-way kit part # HM42245 has a taillight signal converter built into it but it does not draw power from the battery of the tow vehicle. The converter only takes the separate turn signals from stoplights of your tow vehicle and combines them for the trailer wiring.
