Question:

I have a 2005 GMC Sierra Reg cab Truck and I was wondering if this product from Aries Item # AA204048-2 would fit the 2005. I understand that it fits these models 2008-2013 GMC Sierra. What would be the major difference in the 2005 GMC Sierra Regular Cab and the 2008 GMC Sierra Regular Cab. Thanks for your information

It won't fit because the brackets are completely different. The 2008 GMC Sierra's are a different generation than a 2005. GM made some significant changes to their trucks for the 2008-2013 generation. These are designed to be bolted on only, no drilling, to supports and mounting points underneath your truck. They'll be in different locations and most likely a different size on the older trucks. The bars themselves also follow the contour of the trucks body which changed with the new generation.

We do have a set of polished stainless steel Aries steps that are custom fit for a 2005 regular cab and nearly identical in price. For a 2005 GMC Sierra regular cab you will want the Aries Round Nerf Bars - 3" Diameter item # AA204017-2. These fit the 1500, 2500, and 3500 models.
