Question:

Hi, I am looking for some way of transporting 3 kayaks on our 2004 Ford Excursion. It has the factory roof rack already but Im not sure if there is some J brackets that would fit the factory racks or Id replace the rack. Could you see if there is an option for me? Thank for your time and help.

We do have some J-style kayak carriers that fit factory crossbars, like what you would have on your 2004 Ford Excursion.

With you trying to fit 3 kayaks on your roof rack, I would recommend using the Malone FoldAway-5 Kayak Rack w/ Tie-Downs # MAL38FR on one side of your roof rack to carry 2 of the kayaks. When carrying 1 kayak on the # MAL38FR carrier, it can be used in the J-style position. When carrying 2 kayaks, it will be moved vertically to the post-style, this provides more room to then use the Malone FoldAway-J Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # MAL98FR on the other side of the roof rack for the remaining kayak.

If you want to reassure that the kayak carriers will fit in your roof rack, you can measure your crossbars. Both of the above kayak carriers will fit crossbars up to 3-1/2" wide and 1-1/2" tall.
