Can I have an extension 50 amp cord in front of the Hughes Autoformer so I can keep it the electrical bay? Instead of plugging it straight into the pole.

Yes, you can use an extension so that you can have the Hughes Autoformers Voltage Booster with Surge Protection # HU57FR in your electrical bay.
The best way to do this is to use the Hardwired Mounting Kit for Hughes Autoformers 50 Amp Voltage Booster # HU34FR. This kit will adapt your current power cord to work with the Autoformer, allowing you to keep it in the electrical bay.
