Do Self Adjusting Brake Assemblies Require Initial Adjustment

How do I initially adjust self adjusting brakes

The great thing about self adjusting brakes is that if you really don't want to mess with getting into the back of the assemblies to manually adjust them you can just install them and apply the brakes several times and everything will be taken care of.
What normally works is to find an area you can go like parking lot speeds and just manually slide the override of your brake controller over and over and with every application they will get one click tighter until they are totally adjusted.
