Over the years, Ford has used two different OE brake controller pigtails. One with a light green wire, the other with a pink wire. If your pigtail has a light green wire, it would wire as follows:
Pink pigtail wire to black brake controller wire.
Red pigtail wire to red brake controller wire.
White pigtail wire to white brake controller wire.
Blue pigtail wire to blue brake controller wire.
Brown wire on pigtail is NOT used.
If your pigtail has the pink wire, it would wire as follows:
Red pigtail wire to black controller wire.
Light green pigtail wire to red controller wire.
White to white.
Blue to blue.
Brown wire on pigtail is NOT used.
The extra wire is for an illumination circuit that is not needed. The end of the wire should be taped off, and the wire can be bundled up out of the way.
