Retractable Tonneau Cover Compatibility With A 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 With Sports Bar

Question:

Will this cover work on the 2022 silverado 1500, 6 1/2 foot bed with a silverado sports bar? I have the back flipinch by Gator cover on now and it doesnt get in the way of the stake hole in the front,so i am able to get a bolt into the bar and secure it to the bed rail. I cut the rear braket of the sport bar at the horizonal,as it went down inside the rail for clamping purposes. I can only flip the cover open halfway as the sport bar angles in toward the bed and stops it from going any further. Can the side rails be notched or drilled at the stake hole if need be, or can the sport bar sit on top of the side rail with some xtra shims on the outside of the bed rails for support?

The rails of the RetraxPRO MX Hard Tonneau Cover # RE57FR are going to block the stake pocket a bit so you'd most likely have to notch the rails as well if you wanted to keep the sports bar. This is a super common issue and what typically ends up being the only solution is to just trim parts and make it fit, which isn't really what most people want to do with an expensive piece of equipment. If you want to send in some pictures of the sports bar and how it's attaching to the bedrails I'd be happy to give it look and see what we can do to minimize trimming.
