Will The Rightline Gear SUV Tent Work On A Toyota RAV4 With A Side Opening Rear Door I

I also have a Rav 4 with a side opening door. I saw this comment, Question: the Rav4 Limited and most ravs of that year has the back door opening sideways. So i cant see how this would work? tx asked by: June Expert Reply: It doesnt matter how your rear hatch opens actually, the portion of the Rightline Gear SUV Tent with Rainfly part # RL110907 that you referenced that attaches to the vehicle goes over the door and attaches to either the roof rack of the vehicle or the windshield wipers. So your door configuration doesnt matter. If you fast forward to the 9:30 mark of the video I attached you will see exactly how it attaches. Once that is attached your door would be able to open sideways without interfering with anything and the tent would work very well for you. I cannot find the video. can you please send me a link to the video before I purchase. Regards

The video referenced in Jameson's answer page for the Rightline Gear SUV Tent with Rainfly # RL110907 appears to have been taken down for whatever reason. I have attached another video below where Hayden briefly explains the attaching the tent's straps to either the crossbars of a roof rack or to the windshield wipers. Since it wouldn't actually be attaching to the door at all it wouldn't matter if your door opened up or to the side.

I need a tent with no floor, I just wanna be able to get out and pee and sleep in the back of the 2011 Rav4 it has a side opening back door

@Jessi Hi Jessi! That side opening rear door is making things difficult. Though neither manufacturer could confirm the fit, check out the 2 options I have below. They will likely need some finagling to get them to work, but one of them will likely be the best option out there. Lets Go Aero ArcHaus Tent Shelter w/ TailGate Connector - 10' x 6' x 6-1/2' # LGA44ZR The only other option would be to use something like the Rhino-Rack Batwing Compact Awning - Roof Rack Mount - Bolt On - Driver's Side - 69 Sq Ft # RR33300 with up to four of the # RR32111 extensions that you can use as wall panels. You would need to already have a roof rack for this to install on and it would be significantly more expensive though.
