Base plate installation can be challenging on any vehicle. I have linked the instructions for base plates # 523163-1 to the right so you can see what is involved for installation.
Roadmaster states Installation of most mounting brackets requires moderate mechanical aptitude and skills. We strongly recommend professional installation by an experienced installer.
I would say if you have any doubts about doing it yourself after looking over the instructions, a professional installation is the way to go.
