Determining The Correct Replacement Idler Hub For A 1997 Starcraft Pop-Up Camper

Question:

I have a 1997 Starcraft pop up campers. OE hub is for bolts, hub has threaded holes. I want to switch to hub with studs. Will the AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K work?

If you have a 2k axle with a 4 on 4 hub bolt pattern then yes, the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-1K most likely would be a compatible fit. To 100% confirm if this is the case you'll want to measure your spindle with a pair of calipers # PTW80157 at the points B,C, and D in the diagram below. You should get 1.0" exactly for C and D, and 1.249" for B. If you get something else I'll need to know the exact measurements to the decimal to determine the correct fit.

Using a hub with any slack between the bearing and the spindle can cause heat and heat is the enemy of your trailer's suspension system.
