No Brake Lights on 2001 American Coach American Tradition Motorhome
Question:
I have no brake lights on 2001 American tradition rv. I have a Hayes brake controller. A mobile rv guy came to see if he could get brake lights on trailer. He unplugged the 7 pin harness and told me to get a new one. But I’m leaving on Monday and now I’m back wards. The black and white wires in picture I think is for the brake controller. The white was connected to red wire that says stop and I don’t know what the black one went to. And help will be appreciated

I would love to help but I don't have any diagrams of your motorhome if that's what you're thinking. If the lights aren't working right, you need to check and trace wires, no two ways around it. In short, use a circuit tester and check for power at the trailer pin. If there's no power on said pin, find what wire controls it and start tracing it back until you find the break. I don't have any wire color guides as they can vary from vehicle to vehicle I have attached a general article below you can review for some assistance. That said, the wiring honestly looks like a mess so it might end up saving you some time and headache just replacing it all now using the Universal Wiring Harness w/ ModuLite and Brake Controller Harness part # 22551 which will replace all the trailer wiring, it splices in behind the tail lights.
