Recommendation For Hauling Two Mobility Scooters

Updated 11/05/2025 | Published 01/24/2023

Question:

It’s going to get to the point where I’ll need to carry not one but two mobility scooters. Do you have a dual carrier?

While there aren't any cargo carriers that would fit two mobility scooters or even be able to handle the weight of two, you do still have the option of using a trailer like the Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer # K2MMT4X6. The loading gate isn't the best for a mobility scooter so I recommend getting some loading ramps # 288-07474-2 as well. You can use some tie-down straps like # EM04418 to secure your scooters to the trailer.

@Tina Happy to help out! What's the year, make, and model of your vehicle that you will be taking to South Carolina?

@GwendolynY 2019 chevy equinox .My husband does not want to pull a trailer .We wanted one of those things that lowers to the ground and then lifts back up that the car carriers .The 2 scooters weigh 97 lbs each.

@Tina We don't carry anything like what you're describing. The only type of carrier we have would be something like part # PS10401-10402. I did check how much weight you could have on the back of your Equinox and if you have a 1.5L engine your weight capacity would be 150 lbs (total between the scooters and the weight of the carrier). There is also an option for a 2.0L engine and the capacity there is 350 lbs (and again between the 2 scooters and the carrier). I don't have anyone I can suggest but I do know there are companies that specialize in motorized carrier like you're describing.
