Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Capable Of Carrying a 48LB Bike on a 2022 Honda CR-V

Question:

I have found a trunk mounted bike carrier that will fit my 2022 CR-V. it is rated for 2 bikes at 38lbs each. Can I safely carry one bike that ways 48 lbs. That is under the total weight of 2 bikes. A second bike wont be carried.

I have a recommendation as the bike rack you found calls out a maximum weight capacity of 38lbs per bike. While it is capable of being able to carry a 2nd bike the maximum weight per bike does not change if only carrying one bike. We have the SeaSucker Komodo Bike Rack which is capable of carrying one bike up to 45lbs. It uses a fork mount so you will need to remove the front wheel which should easily drop your bike below the 45lb maximum for this rack. The rack is available in the following colors.
