I checked my 2014 Subaru Legacy 3.6R owner's manual and this is what it says about Tire Chains. It said my car cannot use Tire Chains, but can use another traction device such as spring chains. What are spring chains and does the auto-track model you shared 0155305 qualify as that? Thank you!

The correct Konig Self-Tensioning Tire Chains for a 2014 Subaru Legacy with P225/50R17 tires is part # TH00023100. These chains have a self tensioning mechanism to maintain the correct level of tightness, nylon bumpers to protect the vehicle's wheels, and a class s rating for the best clearance. They will need to be installed on the front tires only.

Please note, the owner's manual may have other stipulations for using tire chains you'll want to review before use.

In many cases, the owner's manual will restrict the use of tire chains due to limited clearance but as these can be required by state law in certain instances, many chose to use them anyway. I cannot recommend this but understand the predicament. That said, if you wish to remain in accordance with the owner's manual you'll need to use cables which are the same thing as spring chains, the Glacier Cable Tire Chains part # PW1034. These won't preform as well as chains but they do still work and won't put you at odds with the owner's manual.
