The Optronics Galaxy Single Dome Light # 24004-7171 that you referenced measures at its deepest point 1-3/4 inches. This deepest point is directly behind the clear lens, which pivots within the main black housing to allow adjustment of the light beam.
I have attached a photo with some additional measurements for your reference, including both overall outside dimensions and mounting hole spacing.
We also offer a trim ring for this fixture, part # 24004-TR71.
