Recommended Options For Carrying 4 Bikes On 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid

I did some online research on your 2009 Toyota Camry Hybrid. The maximum towing capacity is 1000 lbs. This would mean that the maximum tongue weight for your vehicle would be between 100 and 150 lbs. Unfortunately, the combined weight of the four bikes and the 4-bike rack like part # HR400, would be more than the maximum weight allowed. There are options for your Camry to be able to carry 4 bikes.

I would recommend a roof rack and a roof rack bike carrier for two of the bikes and also a trunk mounted bike carrier.

I would recommend the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack. To order this roof rack, you would need to order part # RRVA118B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK114.

I would then recommend Swagman Roof Bike Racks, part # S64720. This rack clamps to the bike frame and folds down when not in use.

The trunk mounted bike carrier i recommend is the Thule Trunk Bike Rack, part # TH910XT. This lightweight carrier features a Fit dial adjustment system that ensures a secure fit for your Camry. It also has 6 attachment straps to hold the bikes securely to the rack and anti-sway cradles which prevent bike to bike contact. The weight capacity for this rack is 35 lbs per bike.

another option to consider would be a trailer hitch and a hitch mounted carrier for your cehicle. I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 36416, for your Camry. This is a Class ll hitch that has bolt-on installation and has a 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.

I would then recommend the Swagman Titan 2 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches Item # S63400. This carrier features a tilting design, which allows access to the rear cargo area of your Camry, has sturdy cradles with soft rubber straps to protect the bikes finish.

If you plan on carrying womens bikes or any bikes with alternative bike frames, I recommend a bike adapter like part # 64005. this attaches to the seat post and the handlebar stem and provides a sturdy more level ride for the bikes when placed on the carrier.
