Question:
Checking on WIRING for a Proportional trailer brake controller. I have a Wrangler Unlimited JL, with a dealer installed 4 and 7 plug, using Mopar trailer light wiring 82215896. QUESTION: Do I need to replace this wiring, or is a patch wire available to connect my existing 82215896 to a proportional controller

Expert Reply:
What you have is the same as the factory tow package, so you don't need to replace your Mopar wiring you can use it and there is a brake controller harness for a proportional brake controller. What you need is the following:
- Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Jeep # 3073-P
The # 3073-P will work with Tekonsha brake controllers such as the BRAKE-EVN # TK63VR.
