Question:
Looking to put an awning preferably powered on a new camper we are building. I have 12’ from stud to stud, and want to mount it on the studs. What is the arm spacing for a 12’ awning ? Or can you recommend what size to use ?

Expert Reply:
The length of an awning such as the Solera 12V XL Power RV Awning - 12' Wide part # LCV000334919-362241 is measured from the center of each arm so that's pretty much your arm spacing. That said, you don't have to mount the awning arms to studs, they are supported at the top via the RV's framing so studs are not really needed.
