Question:

Nice ball mounts. Saw one on a truck in the parking lot. Our heaviest trailer is a dump box that weighs 4k with a load capacity of 10k. What aluminum ball mount would we use? Thanks

For a 14,000 lb trailer, you'll need a Fastway ball mount for a 2-1/2 inch hitch receiver, as the highest capacity of their ball mounts for a 2 inch receiver is 10,000 lbs. So if you have a 2-1/2 inch receiver, you can use any of the following, depending on the rise or drop you need:

- 6" Rise/Drop: Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA42-00-2625

- 8" Rise/Drop: Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA42-00-2825

- 10" Rise/Drop: Flash E Series HD Adjustable 2-Ball Mount # FA42-00-2925

For each you can lock the ball mount to your hitch and the ball platform to the mount with Fastway Trailer Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin Lock Set # FA86-00-3685.

If you have a 2 inch hitch receiver, there is another good option I recommend that does have the needed 14,000 lb capacity, the BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball Mount for 2" Hitch - 4-1/4" Drop, 4-3/4" Rise # BPH64FR or 6-1/4" Drop, 6-3/4" Rise # MD204.
