Will the method you use to install a brake controller on the 2008 Monaco work on my 2001 Monaco Dynasty ? Thanks in advance

Yes, the answer page I wrote for installing a brake controller in a 2008 Monaco will be exact same as your 2001 Dynasty:
The blue wire goes to the brake output circuit of the 7-way on your motorhome, the white wire goes to the ground of your battery, the black wire will run to the positive post of your MH battery through a 20 amp circuit breaker like part # PK54220, and the red wire goes to the cold side of your stop light switch on the brake pedal, in your case it should be the wire number 102 in your fuse control center. This circuit will see 12 volts when the brakes are applied and none when released.
