Works great - once I got the wiring installed this thing had no issues with my trailer.

I broke the mounting bracket off the circuit breaker, maybe I a little too rough with it so I blamed myself and ordered another one. While tightening the ring terminals on the new one, the same mounting bracket broke off again. I was more careful with it the second time so I must conclude that the spot weld was not up to snuff. After two units broke I gave up on using the breaker and just used an inline fuse instead. It wont auto reset but it should never blow the fuse anyway. If you do use it, be careful not to stress the mounting bracket. I would only use this inside an insulating box because if it was just mounted on the engine bay wall and the bracket broke, the hot terminal could short to ground and be a big problem.

The mounting bracket on this breaker broke off so I bought another one. Then the same thing happened on the second one. Be very careful when mounting this breaker and it might work fine, but I was never able to use it.

  • How to Wire in a Brake Controller on a 2008 Monaco Windsor Motorhome
You are correct, the blue wire goes to the brake output circuit of the 7-way on your motorhome, the white wire goes to the ground of your battery, the black wire will run to the positive post of your MH battery through a 20 amp circuit breaker like part # PK54220, and the red wire goes to the cold side of your stop light switch on the brake pedal, in your case it should be the wire number 102 in your fuse control center. This circuit will see 12 volts when the brakes are applied and none...

  • Can Different Circuit Breakers be Used if They Mount Differently Than Current Ones
Yes, the 20 amp Circuit Breaker # PK54220PL and the 50 amp Circuit Breaker # PK54250PL can be used in place of your current circuit breakers. Circuit breakers are universal and can be used for a variety of setups as long as they are installed with the appropriate value so the specific circuit doesn't overload.

  • How to Hard Wire Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller
Trailer brake controllers like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 use a 4-wire hook up. The wire functions and connections are as follows: BLACK wire carries 12V power and connects to the vehicle + battery post through a 20- or 30-amp circuit breaker like # PK54220PL or # PK54530. RED wire carries the brake light input signal and connects to the cold side of the brake light switch (the side that carries a signal only when you press the pedal). WHITE wire is ground and connects to the negative battery...

  • Installing a Brake Controller on a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Factory 7-Way Connector
The 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not have the pre-wired port used for installation of a brake controller. To install a brake controller on your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a factory 7-Way you will need to do some hard wiring. The wire Jeep provides is the electric brake output wire that goes back to the 7-Way trailer connector. This wire should be a light green wire that is behind the fuse box in the cab of the Jeep. It will connect to the blue wire on the brake controller. You will...

  • How To Install Brake Controller On 2012 Nissan Frontier Without Tow Package
Since auto manufacturers use different color wires and do not stick to one specific color all the time, the best way to install any electrical components is to use a circuit tester like part # 40376 and test the wires by function and not by color. If you do not have a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. This is a proportional brake controller that applies the trailer brakes in the exact same proportion to the vehicle brakes. On a Nissan, the stop light...

Your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited does not have the factory brake controller wiring harness. Your trailer's stop/turn/tail lights are powered by the lighting signal circuits from your tow vehicle while the dome light would be powered by the 7-way's auxiliary +12V circuit. The brake controller I recommend is the Draw-Tite Activator IV Trailer Brake Controller, part # 5504 because it is smaller than most other controllers at 4-3/16 inches long x 2-3/4 inches wide x 1 inch tall.
