For a roof-mounted bike rack to go with your roof rack, I recommend using the Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Rack for Fat Bikes # RRRBC050-FB for your son's bike and the Rhino-Rack Hybrid Roof Rack # RRRBC050 for the other bike. Not only does the # RRRBC050-FB come with a wider base to accommodate fat tires up to 5" wide, both of these racks come with a wheel-mount design. The wheel-mount attachment style does not require the headache of having to remove the front tire for fork-mounted alternatives. Both racks also come with lock systems that protect both the bikes and the rack from theft. As far as weight capacity, As far as bike compatibility, these models fit tires up to 20" - 29" in diameter. In order to make sure that your bikes are compatible, I recommend measuring the diameters of your bikes' wheels. Also, the racks come with a 45-pound per bike weight capacity. The roof rack discussed in the previous answer can easily support the racks and your bikes. I went ahead and attached demo videos of both of these racks.
