Does the Hitch Bolt of the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Carrier Thread all the Way In
Updated 09/23/2013 | Published 09/21/2013 >
Question:
Is the hitch bolt supposed to go all the way through the base and tighten up against the outside of the receiver? Mine only goes half way through before it stops, leaving a space between the hitch bolt head and the receiver.

Yes, the bolt will tighten all the way up to being flush with the hitch opening. Check out the pictures I attached that show what it will look like once installed.
You might try removing the rack from your hitch and seeing if it will thread all the way in, if so then you know the problem is somewhere on the hitch. If not, then the problem is in the rack and the threads of the rack should be inspected.
