What is the difference in with and without clad moulding

I spoke with a representative from Aries and I was assured there is no difference in the installation of the Aries Round Nerf Bars - 3" Diameter - Black Powder Coated Steel, part # AA204004, with or without the factory clad molding on your 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche.
