What Air Conditioner do You Recommend for a Trailer with a Thin Roof?

Question:
What air conditioner would you recommend for installation on an 1985 Avion trailer with a 1.6 thick roof? Many new air conditioners seem to require a much thicker roof.

I have just the unit for you! We get this question often when considering air conditioners for trailers with thinner roofs.
With your 1.6 thick roof, I recommend using the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box and Wall Thermostat - 13,500 Btu # ADV44FR. Even though this unit requires a roof thickness between 2-1/2" to 5" thick, there is a way to make a custom plate to work around this requirement provide your roof with the thickness you need. You can do this by making a square wooden adapter plate to that is about 2 to 2-1/2 inches thick to provide you with the extra thickness to your 1.6 inch thick roof.
