I am interested in the Rhine rack backbone not with the rack but with heavy duty rails and whether or not this interferes with a Bestop Sunrider softop in the open position, in place of the front freedom panels.

To install crossbars with the Rhino-Rack Backbone system on your 2022 Jeep Gladiator you need the following parts:
Backbone Roof Rack System - # RR65QJ
Rubber Bases - # RRQMFK06
Quick Mount Legs - # RRRLT600
HD Leg Spacer Blocks - # RRQMHD05 (you need 2 of these)
59" HD Crossbars - # RB1500B-2
Please note this isn't a fit that Rhino-Rack has listed but I don't see why this wouldn't work since you're just replacing a fit kit with the Backbone which is supposed to offer much more support. The Quick Mount Legs will raise the crossbars 3" above the roof of your Gladiator. This will give you an idea of how this will fit with your current setup on your Jeep.
