Parts Needed For Towing a 21 Palomino Travel Trailer With a 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend

Published 04/05/2022

Question:

I have a 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend. I want to haul a 21’ Palomino Real Lite Travel Trailer and occasionally a bike rack. Looks like I want the draw tite hitch but can you let me know which wiring setup I need and the bracket for that. I have an installer in Athens Ga but they were like too new for us go get the stuff online lol. I’m clueless so any help will be appreciated. Thanks

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT37GR is the best choice for your 2021 Ford Bronco Big Bend since it does have the extended receiver shank that will reduce clearance issues with your spare tire. It is rated for trailers up to 4,500lbs with a tongue weight up to 675lbs.

For the wiring you will need the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236(For Incandescent Tail Lights), and Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will take care of the trailer lighting as well as give you the wiring necessary to install a Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR with the Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR.

I do recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET when towing your 21' Palomino travel trailer. This will help to keep your Bronco level as well as reduce trailer sway caused by winds and large trucks on the highways. The system is rated for trailers up to 6,000lbs with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs. This hitch includes a 2" hitch ball and we do offer a 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 in the event your Palomino uses the larger coupler. A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install either hitch ball on the Equal-i-zer head.
