Does RoadActive Suspension For 2008 Nissan Xterra Need to be Adjusted When Not Towing
Updated 03/28/2022 | Published 03/26/2022 >
Question:
I want to pull a trailer with a tractor a couple of times a year, and I need extra help to prevent sagging. Would I need to adjust the tension on these before using the trailer, and then release the tension on these after I am finished - or, would I leave them set year-round?

Expert Reply:
Nope, you will not need to adjust the tension either before or after towing of the RoadActive kit that fits your 2008 Nissan Xterra, which is the following part number:
- RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4529-XT
The # RAS4529-XT is designed not to affect the unloaded ride of your Xterra, and can even improve it because the kit is designed to work with your current suspension. It is an active system, meaning it works when needed; so if you go over a pot hole or something similar, instead of your Xterra's leaf spring flattening out, the RAS kit will engage to keep your suspension from bottoming out.
