Question:

I have purchased a new 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 with 64inch box and need to reinstall my Lil Rocker LR-1000 hitch. I have the original rails but am unsure if your semi-custom kits can be used with the original rails. What parts do you recommend I purchase?

To install your Lil Rocker 5th wheel in your 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, my technical contact at Reese recommends you use the Semi-Custom Installation Kit # RP30035-386. This kit contains the rails, mounting hardware, and brackets. He said that although rails are basically universal, they do not have data to verify that the rails you have will match up to the brackets properly.

The other reason to have your rails and brackets match is that your rails have not been tested with the Reese brackets, so the weight capacity is unknown. This is why we recommend purchasing the complete installation kit from one manufacturer.

In the pictures I have the measurements noted that you can use to compare to your current rails. The other measurement that is needed is from the center of the front foot tab to the center of the back foot tab. This measurement should be 22 inches.

If your rails are a match exactly with the measurements indicated then you can use your rails and just order the Reese Brackets # RP58386 and Reese Universal Installation Hardware # RP30439.
