2021 Subaru Outback Rear Hatch Clearance with Yakima CBX 18 Rooftop Cargo Box
Published 02/18/2022 >
Question:
Will the Yakima GrandTour Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 Cubic Ft - Gloss Black Cargo carrier work on a 2021 Subaru Outback and still allow clearance to open the rear hatch or do I need the 16 Cu/Ft version. 2021 Outback has built in non-adjustable roof rails, not like the older Outback versions.

The Yakima CBX Rooftop Cargo Box # Y86FR will fit perfectly on your 2021 Subaru Outback Wagon OEM roof rack system and still allow you to completely open up your rear hatch without any interference. According to my research you have 54" of front bar to hatch clearance with your OEM roof rack and the CBX 18 requires 52-1/4" so it will be within inches, but it will still fit just fine!
