Question:
Can the motor on the top of the leg be rotated 90°? I dont have much room above my existing landing gear and want to see if there is a way to mount the motor horizontally at the top of the leg. Similar to what my factory setup has with the single motor and cross shaft.

The motors for the Reese Electric 5th Wheel Landing Gear Set # RP500708 have to be installed in the upright position. From the top of the upper weld stop to the top of the motor measures 12-1/2" so if you have that much space in your current setup these will fit just fine (see attached).
If you don't have enough room to fit the Reese landing gear motor and you're needing to replace your landing gear then I recommend checking out the Lippert Electric Landing Gear Set # LC333964 which has the same mounting and travel dimensions but it has the motor sitting horizontal for lower clearance and it's rated for 6,000 lbs.
I've attached review videos for both landing gear sets for you to check out.
