Question:

Hello - Im looking for a lockable cargo carrier to mount on top of a tear trailer for carrying camping gear. It has crossbars on it with 44 spread, which is too wide for many of the ski type cargo carriers Ive seen from Thule and Yakima. Do you have any cargo carriers that would mount to a 44 crossbar spread?

I do have an option for you but I don't think you will be able to find a cargo box for a crossbar spread this large, we do not offer any unfortunately. That said, we do have cargo basket options like the Thule Canyon XT Roof Cargo Basket part # TH859XT-8591XT which is what I recommend and really your only option. You can lock the basket to the rack using the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders part # TH450400 but we don't really have any options to secure the contents inside the basket.

If you needed protection from the elements you could pair the basket with a bag like the Rhino-Rack Rooftop Cargo Bag part # RRLB500.
