Brake Controller Installation on 2006 Honda Ridgeline with Aftermarket 4-Pole Trailer Connector
Question:
Hello. We have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline with a 4 flat wire harness that was installed aftermarket. We would like to add a brake controller Tekonsha p3. What products would we need to complete this? Thanks

If your 2006 Ridgeline did come with a factory installed 7-way and the fully operational port under the dash, then you can use the # 3070-P wiring harness adapter. However, I recommend checking using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. to make sure that this port is fully wired.
If your Ridgeline did not come with a port or factory 7-way, then you in order to install a Tekonsha P3 brake controller on your Ridgeline, you will need to hardwire the controller using our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7. Other than the brake controller, the kit contains everything you will need to install the controller.
The installation, although time consuming, is not difficult. I have linked you to an installation video showing the kit being used to install a controller on a Honda Odyssey. Although the video shows a different vehicle, the procedure will be very similar on your Ridgeline.
I have also linked you to a FAQ article showing how the # ETBC7 is used to install a brake controller.
