According to Tekonsha, the # 22292 wiring adapter is indeed the correct item to install a brake controller on your 2013 Ford F150. Keep in mind that if your truck was not equipped with the factory tow package, including the OEM 7-way, you might be missing some fuses or relays in the fuse box to fully activate the tow package. You would need to see your Ford dealer for the appropriate relays. If you have the OEM 7-way, the installation should be a plug-and-play proposition.
The connector for the brake controller is typically clipped to the back of the small cubbyhole on the dash where the OEM brake controller would be installed as shown in the photo I provided for you, but sometimes it is under the dash to the right of the diagnostic port as shown in the video I linked you to.
