hello, is this monitor only for backing up or is constant digital rear view mirror?

That would depend on what circuit you use as the activation circuit for the Rear View Safety G-Series Backup Camera System # RVS-776718-CT that you referenced. If you were to use the reverse light circuit then it would only activate when in reverse but if you were to pick the running light circuit you could allow it to activate any time you turn on the vehicle headlights or running lights.
