Brake controllers themselves are not vehicle specific but the wiring adapter is a vehicle specific item.

If you have a factory installed 7-way trailer connector then the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller # 39510 in conjunction with wiring adapter # 22292 is considered a fit for your 2013 Lincoln MKT.

If you do not have a 7-way trailer wiring already installed in your truck you can use the Universal Installation Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 kit to hardwire in a 7-way in using the your existing 4-pole system.

If your SUV does not already have a 4-pole trailer connector then you can install the Curt # C56095 wiring connector, then using the adapter included with the # ETBC7 convert the 4-pole to a 7-way wiring system.
