We have a flow max pump that is leaking at the black piece at the end should there be some kind of gasket or something in there to keep it from leaking

There are no gaskets at the connectors for the Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pump # LC689052. The fittings are designed with a taper seal to create a watertight connection.
If you are having issues with leaking and the connectors are somehow compromised, they are replaceable with the Replacement Strainer and Swivel Connectors for Flow Max RV Fresh Water Pumps # LC689059.
