Is the Progressive Dynamics PD9270 Just a Charger or a Charger/Converter

Hello. I have a Inteli 9100 mod# PD 9160A. Is this a charger/converter or just a Charger? I’m looking to replace this unit due to this one works but will boil the water out if left plugged in for any length of time. What do you recommend as a replacement. I was just reading about the 70 amp charger/ converter. I have 4 6V interstate Batteries at this time. Thanks for your help.

The Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Smart Battery Charger - 12V - 70 Amps # PD9270 is a charger and a converter. I reached out to my contact at Progressive Dynamics and in order to switch from the PD9160A to the # PD9270 you would need to verify that all of your wiring is capable of handling the additional output.
They also told me that your problem is common and comes from the PD9160A being a single stage charger. It is possible to upgrade your system using the Charge Wizard for Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power PD9100 Series Converters # PD92201. From what I was told, this should help solve your problem. It is also a much more cost effective option.
